Hecht And Associates Architects, Cambridge, Massachusetts

This architectural firm, based just outside of Boston, Massachusetts was a referral from an existing landscape architect client. Hecht and Associates Architects has consistently provided design services to Harvard University and MIT as well as homeowners throughout Greater Boston. It had been years since the existing website was updated and they needed a more contemporary site design. A primary request was to illustrate the two practice areas, residential design, and academic design, on the homepage. To show the two practice areas we choose two have two screen width banners. The residential practice banner was placed on top, above the fold, to grow this part of the business.

This website has a three-tier portfolio. The first tier is the banner image on the homepage. Clicking on the banner takes the visitor to the second tier portfolio page where they can see all of the residential projects. Clicking on an image on the portfolio page takes the visitor to the third tier, a project page where a gallery of images and project description is available. The gallery block was used to enable the photographs to open into a screen width and be scrollable.

A custom sidebar navigation with text links was created that provides access to any project page in one click.
